Professor Oiva Toikka (1931–2019) is one of the prominent figures in Finnish glass art, whose imaginative, rich, and bold glass art deviates from the mainstream trends of Nordic design. Toikka combines his boundless imagination with a profound understanding of the properties of his material. The publication delves into Oiva Toikka's life, one of the most significant glass artists in Finland, who worked at the Nuutajärvi glassworks and also designed for Arabia and Marimekko. The book also includes insights from Kai Savola, former director of the National Theatre, about Toikka's work in the theater world. Toikka worked as a set and costume designer for the National Theatre, Finnish National Opera, and other theaters.
